This Privacy Policy describes how Black Order Limits ("we", "our", or "the app") collects, uses, and protects information when merchants install and use our Shopify application.
1. Information we collect
When you install Black Order Limits, we may collect and process the following information through the Shopify API:
- Store information: Store name, domain, email address, and timezone.
- Product data: Product IDs, titles, and variants needed to apply product-specific limit rules.
- App configuration: Limit rules you create, including minimum and maximum values and custom messages.
- Billing information: Subscription plan and billing status, processed entirely through the Shopify Billing API.
We do not collect or store your customers' payment information. Checkout and payment data remain with Shopify and your payment provider.
2. How we use information
We use collected information solely to:
- Provide and operate the order limit functionality of the app.
- Validate cart and product data against your configured rules.
- Process subscription billing through Shopify.
- Respond to support requests and improve the app.
- Send service-related communications about your account or the app.
3. Data sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade merchant or customer data. We may share data only in these circumstances:
- With Shopify, as required to operate the app within the Shopify platform.
- With service providers who assist in hosting or operating the app, under confidentiality agreements.

4. Data retention
We retain your store and app configuration data while your app is installed. When you uninstall the app, we delete your store data within 48 hours, except where retention is required by law.
5. Data security
We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and access controls to protect data. Access to merchant data is limited to authorized personnel who need it to support the app.
6. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your data. You may uninstall the app at any time from your Shopify admin to request deletion of your store data.
7. GDPR and international users
For merchants in the European Economic Area, we process data based on contractual necessity to provide the app and legitimate interests in improving our services. You may request data access or deletion in accordance with applicable law by uninstalling the app from your Shopify admin.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
